How We Became Sand & Pine Co.

Updated: Oct 7, 2018

Hi ya'll!

I am so excited to be writing this blog post today. I know it's been a long time since I've written you all, but let me explain why...

It's not only been a busy few months, but I'm straight-up monarch butterfly status these days: completely transforming. Everything.

Chris (the Pine to my Sand) and I started merging our businesses months ago because we recognized a need. He was a successful property manager, real estate investor, and construction sales/ project manager... all stuff that makes my hippie brain explode. I was writing a blog, building a social media presence, tackling DIY projects and growing in my design capabilities. There were areas in each of our businesses that were lacking and we knew we could help one another. Help one another, we did.

Without even realizing it we were growing a local brand, inspiring each other, and changing focus to realize our ultimate goal: world domination.

JK. We just want to flip houses. And together, we could make that happen.

Chris has helped me become confident in my design abilities. He's helped me realize career goals (or act on pipe dreams). He's introduced me to his four beautiful children and made me and mine a part of his home. I've made his house look less like a warehouse/ kickball field and more like a home but that's probably my only contribution to this relationship.

Sand & Pine Co. is a little bit of me, and a little bit of Chris. It has two arms: Sand Studios and Pine Properties. Sand Studios is Sand & Pine Co.'s design service, blog, and social media presence -- run by moi. We named it that because mama loves some Floridian sand in her toes. Pine Properties deals in real estate investment, and property/project management. Chris does that math stuff and he's basically a woodland creature so the name fits.

We are currently immersed in a few big projects. One is the staging of the home we are living in. I'll be writing a blog post of #before and #afters so you can see what we were able to do with it on such a tight #budget. Another is a home in the area that was abandoned in early construction. Sand & Pine Co. is currently designing and finishing that property, and I can't wait to tell you all about it! Another is a large piece of property out in the Floridian countryside. More on that at another time. We've wrapped up most of our individual client projects in these last few months and we've managed to apply our solo expertise to our joint venture. I am so excited to infuse a little DIY character into the homes we work on, and Chris makes buying and selling look easy.

Things are going to be messy looking and awkward for a bit while I get our site up and running, but I appreciate you sticking with me and being so loyal. All of the things you loved about Young, Wild and Thrifty and Mainstay Properties are alive and well, and maybe even better! Maybe even definitely freakin' better.

So, if you want to learn more about our new business, click around on our website and subscribe to our newsletter! If you aren't already, follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest so you can see what we're up to every day.

We appreciate you like you wouldn't believe!

xoxo
