Granny Pad Gets a Glam Makeover in Downtown Tampa

Hey Friends! We are so excited to talk about this remodel today! We’ve been shopping (hoarding) decor and furniture for this space for months and finally have some before and afters for you all! Let me give you some background:

Our client decided last summer to sell her townhouse and buy a water view home in the Bayshore neighborhood of South Tampa. We helped her get it staged and she sold it for a profit. She had us house hunt with her (because she planned to buy a fixer-upper) and ended up falling in love with a unit in this high rise building on the water.

It had some funky stuff happening so we needed to:

1. Close in a wall to create a second bedroom

2. Repair drywall

3. Install new flooring

4. Renovate kitchen (and open it up)

5. Renovate guest bathroom

6. Renovate master bathroom

7. Paint entire place

8. Replace baseboards

Here are some pictures of the original space:

Here are the mood boards I created:

Chris and the guys were in full swing once our client closed on the house. This was relatively soon after COVID lockdowns started so we hit a bunch of challenges: materials were hard to come by, people kept getting sick and would be quarantined for weeks, etc. You all know the drill by now. A year later and we’re still dealing with all of these issues. Thankfully we’ve been able to keep our business afloat, but it’s been challenging. In addition to the challenge of operating a business during a pandemic, construction in a high rise presented its own challenges. That was a bit of a learning curve as we’d never done a project of this scale 11 stories high. Needless to say, we hit some snags but the end result was worth all of the difficulty. Our sweet clients have a glam luxury home with zebra patterned Quartz and that makes everything alright.

Once construction was complete the client and I got to work ordering furniture! Spending other people’s money has become my favorite pastime. I went shopping for the space a few times and then spent a couple days setting it up! I’m so excited about the end result.

Here are some before and after side by sides so you can really get a feel for the transformation. Living and Dining Room:

What do you think? I hope you love this reveal as much as we loved creating it! It’s not very often I get to decorate a project we renovate but it is the MOST fun.

xoxo
