Hey everyone,
Buckle up, because today's post is a little heavy.
The last several years wouldn't have been possible without the support of each and every one of you; however, after a lot of tearful discussions and sincere thought, we've decided to set our sights on new goals and are closing Sand & Pine Co.'s "doors".
I've loved this chapter in our careers. Speaking for myself: I learned so much about the construction industry, about my abilities/capabilities, and about what I can do to better myself. I met so many wonderful people, many of whom I consider friends. Unfortunately, in building this business I started stepping back from the stuff I loved so much in the beginning. When the pandemic hit and then decided to stick around for the long haul, our focus shifted to survival. The growing pains from a flourishing business met with labor shortages, material backorders and cost increases. My daily life stopped being about creativity and family, and became focused on administration and endless customer service phone calls. Construction is tough: the hours are long and physical, the demand is high, and the responsibility is great. It becomes even harder when your heart isn't in it. When sitting down and making a list of the things I'm best at, and the things that make me happiest, what I had to do became very clear...
I'm excited to announce that I'm rebranding and focusing on my roots with the added bonus of a ton more experience: decoration, design consulting, and the DIY tutorials that launched my blog. I want to help clients fall in love with their homes all over again; I want to tackle (crazy) do-it-yourself projects like I used to and empower you to do the same; I want to share everything I know about taking care of your bod (and even your soul). My blog is going to be a hub of health and wellness (specifically recipes that don't taste like chalk), product reviews, how-tos, home styling tips, and my adventures in Momland. Funny enough, the posts that get the most reads are never related to construction. You, my loyal readers, have been hinting to me what matters to you for a long time. I'm listening! The stuff I'm most passionate about seems to be what I best talk about. Don't abandon me when I start waxing poetic about pumpkin spiced smoothies or tree branch curtain rods, though.
As we move on to new things we'll be closing out projects with all of our current clients. We'll be here to answer any questions you might have about this transition. I would LOVE it if you'd continue following along as I introduce my new brand, Alyssa Rae Co. I've been focusing a lot of my energy on cool girl zen stuff, and creating a new look for my blog, but I'll have some fun before and after pictures from the Sand & Pine Co. projects we're finishing coming soon, followed by some really awesome DIY tutorials that I think you'll will love!
